Roof Cleaning

Roof stains are extremely common in our area, and can hinder the beauty of your home. These stains are caused by mildew deposits due to improper drying, and most likely found in areas where the sun cannot fully dry out the roof, allowing mold to grow.

A simple wash can remove the mold and algae for a short time, but depending on the location of your home, you may see mold and algae return in 1 to 2 years, or in some cases as soon as 6 months. For this reason, we strongly encourage that the roof be professionally cleaned to rid every last bit of mold and algae and then install zinc strips near the peak of the roof.

These zinc strips are designed to be camaflouged with most roofs, but most importantly they are proven to prevent the return of unwanted stains to your home's roof with almost 100% results.

Did You Know?

It is bad enough that algae causes ugly roof stains, unfortunately it also damages the roof  The algae takes root on the shingles dislodging the granules which protect & color the roof.  It holds water to the roof's surface and can cause decay & rot of the roof's underlayment.  Not only is your roof being discolored by the algae, but it is shortening the life of the roof leading to earlier than necessary roof replacement.

Gutter Cleaning

Throughout recent years, gutters have come along way in their design. Gutters now have stain resistant coatings which enable them to come clean with absolute ease. Older gutters however do not have this coating, or it may have worn off over the course of time.

Gutter stains are commonly attributed to two major causes, gutter overflow and acid rain deposits. Gutter overflow is simply surface dirt which has remained on the gutter and usually comes off with a standard wash. Acid rain however leaves streaks on your gutter similar to overflow, however they are much more difficult to remove, unless you have the proper cleaners!

To keep the beauty of your gutters, we recommend having them cleaned with your home every one to two years. Depending on the location of your home, there are a variety of gutter guard solutions. We highly recommend the Super Flow Gutter Guards.

Completely hidden, and the most effective gutter guard system yet!

This example shows a 10 litre bucket of water in one spot for an average of 35 seconds. The result? No overflows! That equals 73" of rain per hour on a 16' high roof. And yes, it really is affordable!
